Located right on Ullswater lake Another Place was the first stop of our trip. The dog friendly hotel is set in 18 acres of Lake District National Park, with spectacular views of the fells and access to private shore of Ullswater lake.
There are rooms in the main hotel as well as six shepherds huts and a treehouse which are located outside on the grounds of the hotel. We stayed in a dog friendly room inside the original Georgian house. There is a dog friendly restaurant called The Living Space, where you can have lunch and dinner with your pooch. Buffet breakfast was served at the Rampsbeck restaurant which is not a dog friendly space, however the hotel offers you the option of eating in The LivingSpace and walking back and forth to the buffet. For dinner Rampsbeck restaurant offers three-course menu inspired by local and seasonal produce.
Another Place offers a variety of sports and activities like kayaking, paddle boarding and open water swimming as well as a lovely spa with pool, jacuzzi and a sauna all overlooking Ullswater lake. For activities with your pooch there are of course many walks and hikes to explore. In the hotel reception we found hiking guides for the most popular fells and destinations close to the hotel. There was a hotel loop, which required no driving and took you around the hotel and adjoining fields.
The hotel is very dog friendly and had a lovely dog hydration station where your pooch could enjoy a cold bowl of water post walk. Right next to the dog's hydration station was the bar where the humans could enjoy some cocktails, local beers and bar snacks. Our favourite cocktail was Another Place Island Ice Tea.
