West Wittering Beach is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Chichester, West Sussex. West Wittering beach is a wonderful dog friendly beach to visit in the south of England. A portion of the beach is restricted for dogs from May to September, however the beach stretches for miles where dogs are allowed full access. West Wittering beach is a lovely sandy beach that merges with a rocky beach if you keep walking towards East Wittering. At low tide the beach becomes an enormous dog friendly playground.
We brought along a few tennis balls and some water frisbees for dogs to play with. When the tide is low there are miles of sandy banks to run along and chase the ball. Few things to watch out for as you walk on the beach is that few times a day local horses get taken out for walks on the beach. We encountered them first thing in the morning while we were there, so it is important to have your dog under control and make sure all pups that are let of the leash have good recall.
